Focus on Civil Rights

Happy unexpected snow day!  I hope you guys enjoyed your day off yesterday.  Right now, we are in Washington D.C.  Coach Taylor and I wanted to tell you guys that we do miss you, but we are also enjoying seeing some of the incredible sights that we talk about in the classroom.  Here we are enjoying one of the most iconic scenes, the Lincoln Memorial.  Speaking of Civil Rights, here is another picture of our group in front of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

We are having a great time, but we also can't wait to get back and see you Monday.

While we are gone, we wanted to give you an opportunity to look at a group in more depth to investigate what civil rights issues a minority group is currently facing or has faced in the past.  For example, some groups you could choose: African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, Women, LGBTQ, Hispanic Americans, Americans with Disabilities, and many more.  Once you have chosen a group, please complete the following template that will go into more depth on your group.  So in short, here are the steps for today's assignment.

1.  Pick a minority group
2.  Open this template and click on "File, Make a Copy"  You must be signed into google to do this.
4.  Email your completed version to Bryan.Edinger@nkcschools.org or print it off.
